信息学院研究生高水平学术讲座 – 胡伽尼教授学术报告

2019年11月1号,美国伟恩州立大学(Wayne State University) 医学院放射系教授胡伽尼应邀到电子科学与技术系医学影像中心进行学术交流,于科大中区医学楼会议室举行名为“How the brain removes wastes”的学术报告。

胡伽尼现为美国卡尔曼诺癌症研究所(Karmanos Cancer Institute)研究员, 美国伟恩州立大学(Wayne State University) 医学院放射系博士导师, 正教授, 美国伟恩州立大学磁共振成像中心(MRRF)共同主任 (Co-Director), 美国磁共振成像生物医学研究所(The MRI Institute for Biomedical Research)副所长.发表SCI论文170余篇, 3本著作/章节, 5000 Citations, h-index 41.个人专长:生物医学、磁共振成像、电磁刺激设备,以及这些刺激设备在磁共振功能成像和治疗疾病方面的应用。

The recently discovered glymphatic system has become a hot area of research because of its broad implications in both normal physiological activities and neurological disorders. In the simplest term, this system can be considered a subarachnoid CSF circulation system consisting of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), the subarachnoid space, influx pathways (para-arterial spaces, PAS), CSF-ISF (interstitial fluid) exchange compartment, and efflux pathways (para-venous spaces, PVS). Animal studies have strongly suggested that an impaired brain waste clearance is the cause and progress of virtually all neurodegenerative diseases. Moreover, brain waste clearance impairs long before any clinical symptom. However, it is unclear whether the vascular system complements the glymphatic system in brain waste clearance. Here we like to present our results on the topic.
